The race starts by the pavilion near Torquay Harbour. From the start the course heads towards Paignton Seafront, with two laps of Paignton Green, before heading back to finish on Corbyn Head in Torquay.

Your race number must be worn on the front of your vest and be visible at all times during the race. Any attempts to reduce the size or alter the race number will result in disqualification. You will not be permitted to finish without an official number.

Regatta History

The Torbay Royal Regatta 10k is part of regatta week in Torquay and is held on a Sunday evening in August. This popular race attracts between 500 and 600 runners. The race was first held in 1976 and was organized by Torbay athletic club member Dennis Crook. The first twelve years saw the race start at the junction of Kings Drive and the finish was on Corbyn Head after two laps of Paignton Green a total distance of 5.7 miles. In 1989 the race distance changed to the standard distance of 10k and the start was moved to opposite the Torbay Hotel near the harbour. The course runs between Torquay and Paignton is mostly flat with a few undulating hills.
